March 30th, 2002 What's
next? I'd first like to thank the numerous people that have visited this site and especially those that have actually downloaded and tried the game. I currently have no plans to expand this game, but would gladly assist anyone that would want to expand and/or redesign the game. Asteroids gets boring pretty quick, and this project has served its purpose, which was to design a fully functional game and to provide some game code to anyone that might be interested. The executable and the source code will remain available to anyone interested. I'll be spending the next several months developing several DirectX 8 graphics demos, many of which are expected to be provided with source code. Exactly where such code will be located hasn't been determined. Eventually I will complete the demos and begin
work on the next B5 game project, which has been hinted at on the about
page. Prior to this I may create a couple of AI demos detailing
aspects that will be included in the game. I'm guessing that I will
want to incorporate dynamic missions and attack wings that function as a
team. At the moment I'm looking at a "subspace" type of
game, but with missions and single player ability, set in the B5 universe
and utilizing better resolutions and some 3D effects.
