Essential
files for editing
Independence War
- IWar Mission Development
Kit is essential for
as well playing and as
for creating custom
missions. It also has a
guide for using the kit
and missions, which
answers the basic
questions.
- IWar Texturing
Kit contains the
tools to convert normal
image files into IWar
textures. Howerver this palette
file is needed to get the
texures look right in the
game. To ably the palette
to an image in Paint Shop
Pro choose
"Colours/Load
Palette..." (the
short cut is Shift-O) and
then open the this
palette with
"Nearest colour
matching" -switch.
After that load the same
palette again, but with
"Maintain
idexes". Now the
colours show up right in
Glide. This isn't
neccessery the case in
software mode tought,
since some colours are
regressive, and are
swallowed by the colour
of nebula and ambient
lighting, whilst others
are dominant colors that
"shine
trought".
- IWar scripting language syntax
file for EditPlus.
- NanoScripter
v1.0 by Nanoprobe,
mirrored from Colliderring.com.
Much like EditPlus with
the above syntax file,
but you can also launch
the scripts right from
the program. See a screenshot
of the utility.

whitestar etc. in IWar
start screen.

for software mode - by
Bolodin. Copy the file in
the \psg\resource\art
-directory, and let
windows over write the
old Nav.PCX. You may want
to back-up the old file
first tough. Doesn't work
in Glide mode. A screenshot.

to us by Mark. Install as
above, but replace the
test_0.gui file also
because some of the
controls are relocated.
