As you can see we've moved under FirstOnes.com, thanks to Drazi Guy's hosting offer! :)
As said, we're probably going to have something to show this week... the surprise remains what it is.. only our main programmer knows and hasn't even told us others yet ;)
I will update the site ASAP, right now I'm too busy to do that. But I guarantee that any new important stuff will be added as soon as I know about it. Or then oLPe will add them himself if he has time. We've got much stuff to fill in this site, but the only problem is lack of time right now. I will update as soon as possible...

2.5.2000 - first site up

Well we just got a simple site up... giving people the general idea of the game. What we're trying to do here is a mix of real-time and turn-based strategy, in 2D and 3D. The battle sequences are designed to be fought in a 3D environment with all the cheesy 3D effects :) and the turn-based system is most likely pure 2D, or from a perspective view, but still 2D.
Currently we got the general idea on the paper and our coder is deep in programming the 3D engine, with good results. We still have some things to figure out in the 3D environment and most of the game details are still open, although pretty thoroughly thought. Anyways, the main things the game will base on is: 1. diplomacy, 2. resources, 3. guiding your own race and 4. wars.
As I just talked about turn-based and RTS mix, it means NO C&C style... no building units in the middle of a fight, no. What's the big idea in that? The turn-based system will probably be much Alpha Centauri/Civilization-alike. And about resources, they come in two forms: credits and minerals. Hmm, what else... well, I could tell you a bit about the races. We've thought of using the B5 main races + a few smaller ones. Each race has its own special advantage.
And a bit about battles, as much as we have figured out by now: it will be 3D (I think I mentioned that earlier..), the ships will be individually controllable, we will probably add some tactics to the fights (formations), morale also plays an important role, etc etc. I recall we haven't yet decided about planetary battles, will they be detailed or just something turn-based or something even smaller.
Here's the general idea... still have a lot to do and details to think.
